The Pillowman
The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh is a tale of life, art, fact and falsehood, of society, cruelty and the creative process. 3 NIGHTS ONLY!
The play revolves around a writer who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his stories in connection with the recent murders of some local children. It questions the purpose and value of art thru a lens of pain and torment. The Pillowman premiered on Broadway in 2005 and won not only Tony awards for acting and design but also won the Olivier award for best play in 2004. It is a haunting and immediate story that questions what we are willing to survive in order to create. Kafka, the Grimm Bros. and Dr. Hoffman were all most certainly influences on this unnerving, grotesque, and supremely courageous play.
Directed by PJ Escobio,
Cast: Michael Kinzer, Varvara Pomoni, Jacqueline Teegarden, Allix James.
